THE VIDEO PROJECT
Mission
The communication infrastructures and the available bandwidths on the IUCC network enable the promotion and operation of applications requiring high bandwidths. These capabilities enable transferring video files at a high data transfer rate to any point throughout each university.
There are several learning technologies that require high bandwidths and offer video- , audio- and data integrated learning environments. These technologies are being examined within the framework of the video project. The activity in this project is carried out in coordination with the other IUCC units, and serves all the center's member institutions.
Goals of the video project

To serve as the inter-university information center for video/audio applications and to integrate them into learning systems.

To serve as a technological platform for experimentation, examination and use of innovative technologies, with the collaboration of the universities, the industry and commercial firms offering distance learning systems.

To define the requirements and to adapt the systems for learning.
Activities carried out within the framework of the video project

Live webcasting of events on the network, such as lectures, study days, conferences and video conferences, which are broadcast from all the universities on the network. The purpose of the webcast is to promote inter-university collaboration in conferences and other events that are of interest to all the institutions.

A video conference system, enabling to conduct video meetings between two or more video stations on the network. Integrating these means allows conducting video conference meetings at a high audio-visual quality.

Video on demand - hosting and distribution of video material from central IUCC servers.

Producting learning materials incorporating video, audio and data, and offering rich, dynamic and diverse learning material.
