IUCC Cyber Unit

IUCC’s Cyber Unit safeguards Israel’s National Research & Education Network (NREN). The IUCC Cyber Unit activities are governed by an inter-university steering committee that cooperates on joint procurement of network security programs for the academic community, resulting in significant cost savings for Israel’s universities.

Protecting the network and users is carried out on several levels including high-level protection of the ILAN network backbone and other network infrastructures that connects users to the Internet, as well as the secure wireless academic eduroam network. The IUCC Cyber Unit’s services and activities include: the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT), the National Cyber Testbed and Cyber Research.
